Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover Review

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

You remember how I announced that I finally found the best and cheapest makeup remover ever. It is Johnson's Baby Oil with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. I swear to you guys that the product still amazingly works and does the good job in melting my foundations and eye makeup for its super affordable price.

But, I knew that I need to try other makeup remover products too. So I found a great alternative (little expensive but the product is so good) to my baby oil makeup remover and it's Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover.

Some Facts First
  •  Micellar waters originated in France in 1990s and help former Parisian women cleanse their face.
  • Defined as non-rinse, soap-free cleansing water that contain micelles molecules.
  • The formula is designed to cleanse the face conveniently, quickly and effectively.
Product Information

Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover claims to effectively remove makeup without clogging force. It also has a no-rinse formula. It is infused with natural mineral water from Japanese Alps. It is also said to lights off more makeup in one swipe and the feel is light and refreshing. It is said to be clinically proven, gentle and non-comedogenic.

How to Use

Pour appropriate amount of liquid onto cotton pad and gently wipe makeup off. For eye makeup, place soaked cotton pad onto closed eyes for 5 seconds before wiping off gently. Repeat until makeup is completely removed.

My Experience

I have my fair share of makeup remover posts in this site. I featured Etude House's Happy Tea Time Makeup Remover in a video before. WATCH: My Nighttime Skincare Routine. I also reviewed In2it's  Makeup Remover Kit which got me to the whole makeup remover cream + wet wipes love. Then just recently I reviewed the classic makeup remover, Ponds Cold Cream. Also, just as I mentioned on the beginning of this post I owe a big chunk of my makeup remover love affair with Johnson's Baby Oil with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E.

Now, what's common with the past makeup remover product that I use is this - I need to use wet wipes or wash my face with water after. So I guess this motivated me to buy the Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover as it claims to be no-rinse.

This is  my first time trying out a micellar makeup remover so I don't have any product to compare with it. My review will be pure based on my experience using the Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover.
The Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover literally looks like water. It is not oily or thick in consistency. It also doesn't have any color at all even if you transfer the product on a cotton pad. This has a slight clean fragrance in it but goes off pretty fast.

What's surprising about this product is I only use one cotton pad to remove all of my makeup. Yes! But it's because My Everyday Foundation Routine is pretty simple.

Watch below video for reference.

One side I use to melt my eye makeup including top and bottom mascara on my lashes and brows and the other side will be for my face makeup. For water-proof mascara there are still tiny residue no matter how much you slide the cotton pad so I usually stop and just wash my face with what I currently use. For the rest of my makeup I am super happy with what the Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover does.

This product works for light to medium makeup days if you are after the no-rinse effect but if you have heavy makeup you'll sure need to rinse off with a face wash or makeup wipes. This is an enjoyable product to use for removing makeup and I find myself totally dependent with this bad boy. I look forward using the Biore Micellar Cleansing Water to remove my makeup.

It quickly refreshes my face and leaves a squeaky clean feeling. Most days I still use a face wash after just because its part of my evening routine but whenever I feel lazy I just use the product alone and it has the same effect.

No breakouts, no skin irritation at all.

Before and After Application

What I Love
  • Super easy to use
  • Gentle on the skin
  • Doesn't dry your skin
  • Leave a fresh, squeaky clean face
  • Doesn't sting the eyes
  • Effective makeup remover
  • Lasts for 2-3 weeks depending on frequency of use
  • Always available

What I Don't Love
  • The opening is somewhat big so I feel like I am using more product that I want to use.
Overall

I really like Biore Micellar Cleansing Water in removing my makeup after a long tiring day. Isn't it obvious that even emptied already?! It removed me from my obsession with cleansing creams and gave me less time and effort when it comes to removing my makeup. I love that it doesn't dry your skin after and is really worth the price.

Have you tried the Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover? What are your thoughts?
